Prevention Advice........
Home Security
Most burglaries are committed by opportunist thieves. In 2 out of 10 burglaries they do not even have to use force; they enter through an open door or window.
Look at your home through the burglar’s eyes. Are there places where they could break in unseen? Have you fitted strong locks on your doors and windows? Would they have to make a lot of noise by breaking glass?
Reduce the risk of burglary happening to you by taking a few simple precautions.
Firstly try and make it difficult to gain unauthorised access.

With the ever increasing pressure made on our time in today's world;
Is Neighbourhood Watch a realistic tool that can be used to help keep our communities safe and free from crime?
The organisation relies entirely on volunteers from communities to set up and keep running on a daily basis.There seems to be an attitude within society that as long as some one else does the job, then that's OK, Then there is the Safer Neighbourhood Teams set by Police inititives where these teams are taking over the roles of the original function under which NW was established.
It seems to me that we are just a small coin in an ever increasing bigger fountain, where resources seem limitless and we cannot hope to compete.
What does any one else think?
Over the previous months we have had a fairly successful rate with setting up 26 new schems
within the IOW.
The local police have used their resources to work at setting up Safer Neighbourhood Teams, which cooperate with local coodinators at a level that enables information to be distributed to the wider community.
We need more if we are to build upon the success thus far, our biggest danger comes from apathy, the most dreaded of words in volunteer groups.
Spread the word and keep the countries biggest voluntary organisation where it belongs....at the TOP.
Young people are desparately needed to come into the organisation to help with 'New Idea's' and importantly 'Fresh Perspectives on modern society'. Come guy's join a local group.....
you never know you may enjoy it!
